I could not reproduce the error.  Both Darwin and Linux (under  
valgrind) work fine.  I've tested with version 2.1.1rc10, what version  
are you using ?

Btw the upper bound for POST operation can be changed via  
"post_timeout" configuration variable -- no need to hardcode it in  
request.c.
