ehehhehe, that's just a matter of being more polite to the OS than to  
valgrind :)

Jokes apart, I really like to please valgrind most of the times, but  
in this particular case there's no real need to reclaim memory in  
small (and potentially many) chunks via free() when the OS is going to  
call mm_release() a few milliseconds afterwards.
