Good news everyone,

after long gestation KLone2 is finally out with a pile of new features,
a simplified build environment, a brand new site and a new licensing
model.

Let's begin with a compact excerpt of the most relevant *new features*:

* CGI (i.e. PHP, Perl, Python) support;
* hash map'd embedded file system, which means O(1) lookup latency for
embedded resources;
* user provided code that can be injected into kloned daemon at
startup, shutdown, and on a per-request/response basis;
* complete HTTPs support (i.e. CRLs handling added);

the whole list can be found at
http://www.koanlogic.com/klone/changelog.html.

The *build environment* (formerly known as KLone-devkit) has been
revamped from scratch and bundled with the KLone package (now
KLone-core) into a single tarball (KLone2) with all the bits needed to
compile and install your cross platform web application. The new
environment has been tested on a number of real-life applications and
has proven to be an effective tool to us - hope it will be the same for
you !

Now the *KL site* (plain old http://www.koanlogic.com).
It has been completely restyled - basically we've moved away from
DocBook which was nice but excessively heavy to handle - contents have
been reorganized and, most of all, it's now KLone-powered :) We have
set up a wiki at http://wiki.koanlogic.com where we intend to host the
majority of docs, that we hope to maintain and constantly improve also
with your help.

Finally, the *license and pricing model*.
The GPL license still applies: if you are a free software developer you
don't need to worry. Instead, if you develop commercial products and
need to buy a commercial KLone2 license, you will be happy to know that
we've moved towards a *royalty free* pricing model: when you pay for a
KLone2 license you can install it onto an unlimited number of devices
at a fixed price (900 Euro).

That's all folks (for now), and happy hacking !
